Jocelyn Moorhouse's 1991 Australian cinema classic returns to the big screen to celebrate the film's restoration by the National Film & Sound Archive on its 25th anniversary. In the roles that would help launch their international careers, Hugo Weaving and Russell Crowe star as blind photographer Martin and the young man he befriends, Andy. Brought together by circumstance, their newfound friendship is threatened by Martin's unusual relationship with his conflicted housekeeper Celia (Genevieve Picot). Arriving at the start of the Australian feature renaissance that would be marked by the release of Strictly Ballroom, Romper Stomper, The Piano, Muriel's Wedding and Babe, PROOF has been painstakingly restored so it can be enjoyed in high definition digital for years to come.
