England Is Mine

A heartfelt portrait of Steven Patrick Morrissey and his early life in 1970s Manchester, before he went on to become lead singer of seminal ‘80s band The Smiths. Director Mark Gill, Oscar and BAFTA nominated for his astounding short film The Voorman Problem, captures the Industrial North of Thatcher’s Britain: unemployment, rioting and social change. But amidst all the chaos, the teenage Morrissey feels a spark of creativity.
