Dunkirk

From Christopher Nolan, director of Inception, Interstellar and Memento, comes a chilling wartime thriller set around the allied evacuation from Dunkirk at the height of World War II. With Nazi soldiers closing in on the coastline of France as allied forces from Belgium, the British Empire, Canada and France, wait to be rescued by the British Navy, Nolan provides multiple perspectives of the effort. Mark Rylance (Bridge Of Spies) is a 'weekend sailor' whose small boat is requisitioned, Tom Hardy stars as a daredevil pilot charged with protecting the fleet, and Fionn Whitehead and Harry Styles are among a group of soldiers desperate to get back to Britain. Co-starring Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy and James D'Arcy, Nolan's gripping drama is a Swiss-clock of precision filmmaking that is sure to be remembered during awards season.
